A clean finished softwood screening batten. Purpose-designed for venetian-style privacy fencing, horizontal screen panels and decorative outdoor cladding. The eased (rounded) edges give a smooth, finished appearance straight off the pack – no additional planing needed. Made from slow-grown Scandinavian pine, known for its density, stability and resistance to movement, key for lighter battening profiles like these. Green pressure treatment means it’s built to last outdoors without painting, though it readily accepts stains, oils and paint if you want to customise the finish. At 45 x 20mm finished size and 4.2m lengths, you get fewer joins and a cleaner, more seamless result. Typical venetian fence spacing is 10-25mm between battens – at 15mm gaps you’ll need roughly 20 battens per vertical metre of fence panel.
