Douglas Fir Timber Board

Description

Douglas Fir is Valley’s own – milled on site from trees grown in the Southwest. Straight, clean grain with a warm red-brown heartwood and creamy sapwood, with subtle resin channels that give it a slight lustre. Grain is tighter and more even than most softwoods, giving a crisp, workable surface. Naturally resinous heartwood provides good weather resistance without treatment.

Versatile across both indoor and outdoor use: furniture, shelving, cladding, workshop benches, garden buildings and structural work. The resin content makes it less ideal for kitchen food-contact surfaces (can taint over time) but excellent for workshop use and decorative interior applications. Durability Class 3 – suitable above ground externally without treatment; seal end grain well. A genuinely local material with full traceability from forest to yard.
