Description

European Ash has one of the most distinctive grain patterns in the hardwood range – strong, flowing growth rings in creamy white to pale brown, often with a subtle olive or grey tint in the heartwood. The grain is open and pronounced, giving character without the heaviness of oak. Exceptionally tough and shock-resistant; historically the timber of choice for tool handles, sports equipment and vehicle frames.

Ideal for furniture, worktops, staircases, flooring and sports goods. Food safe and odourless when finished with food-grade oil – well-suited to chopping boards, kitchen worktops and dining tables. The open grain benefits from a grain-filling finish for the smoothest results. Durability Class 4-5: internal and sheltered use only. Note: ash dieback (Chalara) is affecting UK ash populations; we source responsibly from managed stocks and the timber itself is unaffected by the disease.
